NEW REALITY INTERNATIONAL

New Reality International (NRI) is a U.S. 501(c) 3 non-profit organization (Tax ID # 20-4630060) dedicated to helping those who are victims of extreme poverty, disease, and injustice access health care, shelter, basic human services and vocational training. This past year NRI was able to directly serve over 13,000 people suffering from extreme poverty in Haiti and South America with medical, dental and surgical care. In addition thousands were provided with tents for shelter, hygiene supplies and food.

The organization was founded by Laila Haddad-Mickelwait who is the current Executive Director. Her qualifications include years of experience working in the non-profit and international non-governmental sector. Before working exclusively for New Reality International, Mrs. Mickelwait spent time working for Habitat for Humanity, the United Nations Millennium Project in Geneva Switzerland, the United Nations Millennium Project in Washington D.C., and the National Journalism center in Washington D.C.

In addition to practical experience, Mrs. Mickelwait has experience in the areas of international relations and international human rights research and was published in the United Nation’s “State of the Future” report endorsed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in 2008. Mrs. Mickelwait holds a B.A. in Political Science as well as a Master of Public Diplomacy degree from the University of Southern California. NRI has a diverse and experienced board of directors that meet on a bi-monthly basis and who carefully watch over the activities of NRI.

The board has a united vision and they are steering the organization in a direction that makes it a cut above the rest, particularly in the areas of accountability to donors, maximum productivity, and extremely low administrative overhead. To achieve this high standard, NRI has implemented a system where no employee, relief worker, director, project manager or board member receives compensation. All who are involved with NRI do so on a completely voluntary basis. In addition, NRI’s physical office space is donated. For these reasons NRI is proud to able to keep overhead expenses at an astonishingly low 2%.

HAITIAN CHRISTIAN MISSION

Haitian Christian Mission, founded and directed by Pastor Etienne and Betty Prophete, is a ministry that exists to spread the good news of the gospel and to share God’s love with the people of Haiti.  In the name of Jesus, we minister to thousands in our churches, schools and medical facilities.  Our work is concentrated mainly around the capital of Port-au-Prince and the nearby town of Fond Parisien.

We have been richly blessed over the years by the Lord and by the churches and individuals that support us with their donations and prayers.  Hundreds of children have benefitted from our child sponsorship program and have gone on to become great servants and leaders in their communities.  Entire villages are blessed when funds are given to drill new wells or build cisterns.  Because of our partnerships with different organizations our medical facilities are able to provide thousands of people with medical care that they would find no where else.

Life is a gift that cannot be bought. It comes from God and must be cherished, nurtured and cultivated.  The purpose of Haitian Christian Mission is to bring a life to the level of relationship with God that existed in the Garden of Eden. Christ came to restore that relationship and to bring abundant life to his sheep. We have two great models of leadership in front of us: Christ’s model which is a holistic ministry because he cared about the body, mind and spirit; Paul’s model which is a planting and expanding ministry as he envisioned the multiplication of believers throughout the world.
